ASIS KENYA CHAPTER 269
ASIS Kenya Chapter 269, was registered under the Societies Act, Chapter 108 Laws of Kenya in 2019 and is made up of ASIS International members who offer protection and loss prevention services for safe work environments in various fields of the economy, the region and elsewhere.
Chapter events and activities are coordinated by a leadership team of elected officials who are led by a Chapter chairman.
Some of the activities that are currently being pursued include onboarding new members who are entering the professional risk management sector from their practices either in government or private practice, ASIS certification programs, Webinars, publication of the Chapter newsletter and website, guest speaker interactive talk shows and notifying members of upcoming events on the regional and international arena.

Tobias See, MBA, CPP®, PCI®, PSP®
Tobias See MBA, CPP, PSP, PCI has been in the security profession in the region for the last 27 years. Based in Nairobi Kenya, he is currently the Managing Director of RILEY FALCON SECURITY SERVICES LTD, one of the largest and well-established security companies in the region. He is currently serving on the board of RILEY COURIER and FAST LAND DEVELOPMENT LTD. Tobias also served as the chairman board of management of NYANZA CLUB and captain of NYANZA GOLF CLUB. Tobias has undertaken training in various aspects of security in Kenya, Europe, Asia, and America. He is also trained in corporate governance.
Tobias holds a Master’s in Business Administration (Strategic Management) and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Maseno and Kenyatta University respectively. He is triple certified (CPP, PSP, PCI) by ASIS INTERNATIONAL and is current Chapter Chair, Kenya Chapter 269.

Hadija Jama – Director Darubini Screening International Company Limited
Hadija Jama is the director of Darubini Screening International Company Limited. She has more than 35 years of experience in Human Resource Management, formerly at CFC/Stanbic, Trade Bank, and Citi Bank. She is a member of ASIS having attended 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019 Global Security Conferences in Los Angeles, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Chicago respectively.
Being one of the ASIS WIS Kenya Founders, she is committed to helping Kenyan Women in Security know that there is a support network for them to reach out to and have a feeling of belonging. She has helped ASIS Women in Security to strive to be the best that they can be and achieve ASIS Security certifications. Additionally, she has been instrumental in helping them find that perfect someone to mentor (Mentorship), consequently helping them learn from others and their career paths (Ask a Mentor). Anthony Maina Mithanga, CPP® – Founder & CEO, Biometrics Technology Limited (BTL)
Mr. Anthony Maina Mithanga is the Founder and CEO of Biometrics Technology Limited (BTL), a leading regional security system integrator. He has 27 years of Multidisciplinary executive management experience in both the Public and Private sectors. A seasoned security technology expert, Mr. Maina has overseen the design and installations of large-scale commercial and industrial electrical, electronic and Integrated Security Systems.
He is also a founder and served as Managing Consultant of Spasys Limited, where during his reign he provided advisory and project management services to over 50 Financial institutions spread globally. Previously, he worked for Kenya Railways Corporation, Britam, Pride Africa, and Pride Management Services.
Besides Security, Mr. Maina is passionate about education and health matters. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Governors for Mukurwe-ini Technical Training Institute, Mangu High School, and Birithis Girls. Further, he serves as a Board Member of the Archdiocesan Education Advisory Board.
On matters of health, Mr. Maina serves as the Chairman of the Board, Nyeri Referral Hospital, and the Heart-to-Heart Foundation of Karen Hospital. On matters community, Mr. Maina is a Charter and Past President of the Rotary Club of Karen. Mr. Maina holds a BSc from the University of Nairobi and is a graduate of Sidar’s Applied Directorship program.

Simon Karuki, MSc, CPP®, PCI®, PSP®, CFE – Head of Group Security and Investigations, I&M Bank
Simon Kariuki MSc, CPP, PSP, PCI, CFE, has been in the security profession in the
East African region for the last 10 years. Based in Nairobi, Kenya he is currently the Head of Group Security and Investigations at I&M Bank. Prior to joining I&M Simon worked at Ecobank as the Regional Head of Corporate Security where he oversaw security and investigation management in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan and Ethiopia. Simon has also worked at ABC Bank as the Head of Security and Equity Bank as a security officer.
Simon holds a Master of Science Degree in Security and Risk management from the University of Leicester. He is triple certified (CPP,PSP,PCI) and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Previously, Simon was Chair Certifications whereby he oversaw training of security certifications and many of certified chapter members have been trained by him. He is passionate about training and security management and he gave a wonderful presentation on ESRM in the just concluded Corporate Security Conference. Victoria Mulwa, Bsc, CPP®, PCI®, PSP® – Founder & CEO, Arope Group Limited
Victoria is Currently the CEO AROPE GROUP, a leading Company in Kenya in background checks and Screening. She is a Career Banker with a wealth of experience in Banking. She is B.O.M Member at the Kenya High School. Chair, B.O.M, Mbembani Secondary School and Regional Safari Group Coordinator for CITAM. Victoria was a member of the technical committee that was hand-picked by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) to come up with the Human Resource Management – Employment Screening – Guidelines (KS 2827:2018 Kenya Standard – Human resource management – Employment screening – Guidelines First Edition) which has since been gazetted.
Victoria is very Passionate, Determined, Proactive, Process-centered, and Adaptive towards the women’s role in the security profession leading from the front by being the First Woman in Africa and Kenya to be Triple Certified ( CPP, PSP, PCI) by ASIS International. Priscah M. Mulinge CPP®, MSc, Dip. CSMP®, F.ISMI®
Priscah Mulinge, an International Security Specialist, Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP-UK) with MSc in Governance, Peace, and Security Management. Priscah has in-depth knowledge of geopolitical and security dynamics in the Horn of Africa with four (4) years of field experience in Somalia, having worked with AMISOM as International Police Officer and currently as Senior Security Officer at a Humanitarian Mine Action International Organization.
Priscah is a retired Kenya Police officer with 16 years of distinguished service cutting across diplomatic protection, operations, security, intelligence, administration, and community policing among others. Priscah become the First lady in Kenya to be admitted as a Fellow of ISMI. Currently, she is the Chair Young Professionals, ASIS Kenya Chapter.

Armstrong Maina, CPP®, PSP®, PCI®, CSMP®, F.ISMI has been in the health, safety and security world for the last 15 years serving both in the Kenya Police Service and Humanitarian Sectors. He is currently the Global Security Manager with PSI. Armstrong is also a fellow with the International Security Management Institute (ISMI) and certified NEBOSH – International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
He is a graduate of the University of Nairobi with a Master of Arts degree in Armed Conflict and Peace Studies. He is the Current Chair Mentorship, Kenya Chapter.

Col Dahir Ali CPP is a KDF Commissioned Military Officer who has served in various capacities in his 29 years of distinguished Military service. He has had training both in Military and Peace Support Operations. He has had a peacekeeping stint with UNMIS in 2005/6. He holds a Master’s Degree in Military Studies (Air University USA) and a bachelor’s degree in Military Science from Egerton University. Currently, he is the Chair Military Liason, Asis Kenya Chapter.

Charles Maina is the current Chair Membership, ASIS Kenya Chapter. Charles is an experienced Investigator / Criminologist spanning the last 12 years. He is the current Forensic Investigations Department Lead at Absa Bank Kenya PLC leading a Team of Forensic Investigations Managers. He holds a B.A. Crim, Dip in Economics Crimes, and Dip in I.T. and also attended various Leadership & Management Courses by Harvard. He is a Certified Mobile Forensic Expert (by Cellebrite (Israel) Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) & Certified Protection Professional (CPP). He is also a Board Member of Blue Eagle SACCO and sits on the Credit Committee.

Major Peter Kala is our current Chapter Chair Media and Marketing. He has 12 years of Military Experience, Spanning both locally and regionally. He holds a First Class honors in Military Science from Egerton University and is currently a final year Master’s student in Governance, Peace, and Security from African Nazarene University.
Major Kala is a Certified Security Risk Management Professional both at the Regional and Country levels (SRMP-R & SRMP-C) by International Safety and Security Association (INSSA). He is also a member of the association. He is also a Member of the Security Institute (MSyl). He is also a Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) by ASIS International.

Collins holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and Security Management from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology and is currently a Master of Business Administration student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Tom Kipyegon, CPP®, PSP®, PCI® is a seasoned board certified protection professional with over 20 years of experience in corporate safety and security within East Africa in the areas of Hospitality, Global logistics, Aviation and Government. He has extensive experience in corporate Safety & Security Management, Business Continuity Planning, Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM), CPTED, and Governance. Tom was the 2020 OSPA finalist in the category of best in-house security management.
Currently, Tom is the Assistant Regional Vice President (ARVP) Region 10 (A)-Eastern & Southern Africa at ASIS International and Founder/Managing Director WebRisk Consultants Limited. He is an accomplished Safety & Security Trainer and is credited with successful ASIS Certification Classes in Kenya. Holds a degree in Criminology & Security Studies from Egerton University

Brigaider General (RTD) Ahmed Mohamed, EBS, MBS, CPP®, PCI®, PSP®
Brigadier General (RTD) Ahamed Mohammed has served in a variety of command and staff positions in his 37 years career in the Kenya Defence Forces. He has also served in a number of high-profile international assignments. He is an analyst, expert, and consultant on national security, security management, conflict management, and international issues.
Brig (Rtd) Mohammed is the immediate former Chairman of ASIS Kenya Chapter and is currently the Assistant Regional Vice President for Eastern Africa (ARVP). He is ASIS Triple Certified with CPP, PSP, PCI, and a trainer on all. He is a graduate of Kings College, University of London with a Master of Arts degree in Defence Studies. He is also a graduate of the University of Nairobi with an MA degree in International Studies. He is a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Management and his awards and decorations include the Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS).
He is a passionate golfer and his interests include research on leadership, management, and motivation (inspiration). He is now keen on asset protection.
