Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to ASIS International Kenya Chapter. It gives me great pleasure to make this maiden remark on this website since its inception mid this year. ASIS International is the world’s largest association for security management professionals. It also provides value for members as the most recognized certification platform with modern learning environments, information resources, networking opportunities, and a highly energized set of professionals.

ASIS Kenya Chapter 269 was revived in May 2018 and has since seen a steady growth. This Chapter is one of the youngest but upcoming and very promising. The commitment by the Members to this Chapter has greatly endowed us with the moral strength, sense of vision and more importantly the desire of making a difference in our security profession and industry. The craving and excitement of making a positive difference in the security industry in Kenya has given us the drive to achieve much in a very short time and much more awaits us in the months and years ahead. I would like to challenge each one of us to further engage to make the remaining part of the year, a period of growth and optimism so that we may attain greater heights.

ASIS Kenya Chapter has made commendable progress and success in the last one year of its revitalisation. We have been able to double our membership from about 35 to slightly over 70 today. We have steadily maintained our monthly meetings thereby providing a platform for knowledge sharing and networking. Our premier success has however been in the area of certifications where from the low number of 2 earlier this year, we now have an all-time high of 14 certified members; 11 CPP’s, 2 PSP’s and 1 PCI. I would like to take this opportunity to convey my hearty congratulations to all those who sat and passed their certifications this year making us proud by registering a commendable 100% pass. I equally would like to thank the team of facilitators led by the Chairman and Secretary General for running the classes in a highly professional and customized manner. The three-month crush program for CPP is a Kenyan specialty, patent and standard that other Chapters will have to beat.

The value of an ASIS membership will increase substantially in the years ahead. We must develop relentless focus on growing our membership by focusing on member value and expanding our vision for the future. In this regard, ASIS Kenya Chapter will endeavor to develop and deliver the highest quality in services to its members. Success will be measured by our ability to evolve and remain relevant. We will ensure our members and the security community have access to intelligence and resources necessary to protect their people, property, and information assets. We will equally create an unprecedented opportunity for those joining us to learn new skills and develop their personal and professional capabilities and squarely address the security challenges in Kenya.

Dear Colleagues, I wish to thank you all for bestowing on me this great honour and opportunity to lead this great Chapter, and assure you of my commitment to serve you to the best of my ability.

Thank you and may the good Lord bless you all.
